price guide & frequently asked questions

mini cupcakes
Minimum order of two dozen.
Prices start at $3.30 each.
regular cupcakes
Minimum order of one dozen and one dozen per flavour.
Simple design starts at $6.50 each.
Extensive work/detailed design $7.50 - $9.50 each.
3D figurines and/or technical design $9.50 - $15.00 each.
wedding & celebration cakes
 *    Plain iced cake: 1 tier starts at $200
                      2 tier starts at $340
                      3 tier starts at $480
*    Novelty cakes are priced from $300.
*    Madhatter cakes starting at 2 tiers are priced from $500.
*    Cake figurines sold separately or added to cakes start at
     $75. Cupcake figurines are not sold separately.
Your cake or cupcakes can be delivered for a fee. The delivery cost is determined upon delivery address. Alternatively, cake collection is available.
hire - cake and cupcake stands
8 tier round perspex cupcake stand:
This stand can be used for as little as two tiers or up to 8 tiers.
$40 overnight hire plus a $100 refundable bond.
cake pedestals:
There is a range of white and pink milk glass available in varying sizes and shapes available. Click here for images.
Hire prices range from $10 - $40 overnight hire, plus a refundable bond range of $30 - $80.

frequently asked questions

quoting your cake
When providing a quote for your cake, we factor in size, flavour, materials involved and artistic labour. The more detailed and intricate design your cake includes, the more expensive it will be. For example numerous sugar flowers involves hours of artistic labour and can increase your cost. Whether you go with dessert or coffee portions for your cake affects the size and hence the cost also. See below for more information on cake sizes.
I am a perfectionist and meticulous when it comes to creating your cake and can assure that your cake will be of the highest calibre in quality. All cakes include gourmet and imported ingredients as I believe your cake must taste as fabulous as it looks! This should be factored into when comparing quotes.

There are two options available when requesting a quote and design with Vanilla Lily. You can contact me via email or telephone to request a consultation questionnaire which will be emailed to you. This should then be returned via email which will enable me to provide you with an initial design concept and quote.
The second option is an off site in person consultation.
These consultations are obligation free and at no cost to you. Hours available for consultation are Thursday and Friday evenings or weekends.
Before choosing either option, I recommend you have chosen your event theme, colours flowers etc. With an in person consultation I suggest you bring with you pictures, colour swatches, notes, invitations and any other materials that may be relevant. This will give a better understanding of where you want to go in terms of design.

placing an order
Once your consultation is completed, you will be contacted via email with a formal quote and your terms and conditions. All quotes are valid for 14 days only. Once your quote is formally accepted, you will be forwarded an invoice and payment information.
A deposit of 50% is required and will be outlined in your invoice. This must be paid up front to secure your event date. Provision of your quote does not automatically secure your event date.
Bookings are taken up to 12 months in advance and I suggest you book early to avoid disappointment. I am usually booked out 3-4 months in advance.

cake serve size
Your cake serve size is required to quote your cake. This helps determine the size of the cake required to give you the best matching number of portions without cake wastage.
My cake serve size used is as follows:
Coffee portion - 1in x 1in x 4in height
Dessert portion - 2in x 1in x 4 in height

cake tastings
I offer cake tastings for in person consultations for a $20 fee. Your cakes will be in the format of 1/2 dozen cupcakes undecorated, this is because I do not freeze my cakes and your tasting is baked fresh for your consultation.
Please take into consideration I am a bake to order business and do not freeze my cakes. Therefore if you wish to choose your tasting flavour you may need to arrange your consultation around a time when I have your requested flavour available.
If you have not booked an in person consultation but still wish to do a cake tasting, you may order and purchase a minimum of one dozen undecorated cupcakes for a fee of $54. One flavour per dozen.
Please note the above prices and cupcakes are for cake tastings only as undecorated cupcakes are not usually sold as a retail product.
